What you need to know
- Get 6+ penalty points within 2 years of passing and your licence is revoked.
- New drivers are statistically most at risk in their first year — keep margins big.
- You'd have to re-apply and pass both theory and practical tests again.
Sample question
When you are driving while it is snowing, you need to
- ensure that your sidelights are activated.
- apply gentle pressure when using your accelerator and brakes.
- apply maximum pressure to the brakes immediately if necessary.
- make sharp turns on the steering wheel if necessary.
Why
Falling snow can make road surfaces treacherous, so you should use your brakes and accelerator with care. This will keep your car under control and prevent skidding.
Common mistake
Thinking the normal 12-point rule applies — for new drivers it's only 6 within 2 years.
